Rahma Gambia Ltd,a subsidiary of AlaSan Holding Ltd (UK), is a trailblasing agri-food company committed to transforming The Gambia, and the West African food industry. Established five years ago, Rahma Gambia began as a socially responsible essential food commodities import-export business, supplying high-quality staple foods under our well-recognised Rahma brand. Today, our brand has become a beloved household name across The Gambia and the wider sub-region, synonymous with quality, trust, and excellence.
Driven by a bold vision of food self-sufficiency and industrial growth, we are now embarking on a transformative journey—building The Gambia’s first and largest multipurpose food production complex on our 300,000 square metre land in the Western Region of the country. This state-of-the-art facility will integrate multiple food processing plants, enabling us to produce locally what Gambians have relied on imports for decades.
Our expansion is ambitious and unprecedented in The Gambia’s history. For the first time ever, the country will have an industrial-scale bread and bakery production facility, revolutionising the local food landscape and reducing dependence on foreign imports. Our facility will also house large-scale processing of mango juice, tomato paste, dairy products, flour, and more, ensuring that raw materials grown by Gambian farmers are transformed into high-value products that serve both local and export markets.
At Rahma Gambia, we are not just building a company—we are building a movement for economic independence, job creation, and industrial excellence. Our goal is simple:
✅ Empower local farmers and producers
✅ Create thousands of jobs in food manufacturing
✅ Enhance food security and reduce reliance on imports
✅ Position The Gambia as a key player in Africa’s food production sector
